- If you don’t see the developer options panel, tap “About Phone”, then “Software Info”, and then repeatedly tap “Build Number” until the phone says you’ve enabled developer options.
Keep in mind that changing the number of background processes may cause the phone to feel more sluggish when repeatedly switching between multiple apps, since the phone has to load in all the data every time.
Processor automatically throttles due to overheating
If you encounter the phone slowing down or freezing when it gets hot, there are a few steps you can take to lessen how often it occurs:
- Keep track of which apps cause the phone to get hot. This is obviously not a fool-proof method, but limiting the use of apps that heat up the phone will mitigate processor throttling, which should keep the phone running more smoothly
- If you notice that the phone starts overheating after installing or updating a certain app, it may be that the app you installed is running even when you aren’t using it. You can either uninstall the app, or if your phone is rooted, use an app like “Titanium Backup” to “freeze” the app and prevent it from running when you don’t need it.
- If neither of these steps work, it may be that your phone’s battery is heating up. This is normal, and happens to any battery over time, mostly during charging. If this happens often when your phone isn’t charging, especially if the phone is idle, it might be time to replace the battery. Most Lithium Ion batteries only last for a limited number of charge/discharge cycles, and it may be that the battery is reaching the end of its lifespan.
Volume Button Doesn’t Function
The volume button does not work when pressed.
Requires a Restart
Power off the phone by holding down the power button, then power it back on by holding on the power button again. Sometimes it may just be the software.
Loose Internal Connection
Sometimes, the connection between the buttons and the internal hardware is loose. Try fixing it by squeezing the phone using your thumb on the upper right corner and repeat a few times. This can be a temporary or permanent fix, depending on the severity of the issue.
Stuck Volume Buttons
The buttons on the phone may get stuck. To fix this issue, hold down on both the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time. If the problem persists, try to alternate holding down on the buttons.
Risio Won't Turn On
The phone will not respond or show any sign of powering up.
Faulty Power Adapter
Attempt to force restart your device. Be sure that the adapter is plugged in and the charging light is on. No light could mean that the adapter is faulty. Look into buying a replacement adapter that is compatible with your phone.
Faulty Battery
Attempt to force restart your device. Plug in phone to an adapter and power it on. If the device turns off when unplugged, regardless of charging time, then the battery is faulty. Consider purchasing a replacement battery.
Risio Won't Charge
The phone won't respond to being plugged in.
Faulty Cable
Try switching out the cable for the phone, as it may have a loose connection or the wires may have been broken.
Faulty Power Adapter
Try to plug in the phone and see if the charging light is on. If not, it could mean that the power adapter is faulty, so consider replacing it.
Faulty Battery
Plug in the phone and let it charge for a bit, if it works while charging, but not while off of the charger, it may mean that the battery is faulty. If so, replace the battery.
Speaker Won't Produce Sound
The phone does not have sound coming from the speaker
Sound On Phone Is Muted
Be sure that there when the is audio playing that the volume is turned up. Play a video or some sort of sound file, and while it plays press the volume button up.
Connected To A Bluetooth Device
It is possible that the mobile device is connected to a bluetooth device. To change this you can go to settings the phone settings, and turn off the bluetooth setting. Once the setting is turned off you can test its sound.
